Lately I've been learning a bit more about internet speeds because I'm moving and finally have access to broadband, after a year of dial up. I found this site that lets you easily check your speed.. I wanted to know what I had now so I could figure out how which plan I want when I move... http://www.speakeasy.net/speedtest/ The fastest I have ever tested was 42 kbps download/94 kbps upload. If you think that's slow, the other night my download speed was only 26 kbps!! Ugh!! These numbers don't mean anything to me, but obviously the higher the number the better. Well I'm glad I found this site because know I know that I don't need to pay for speeds as high as 3.0 mb, like the Earthlink guys were trying to talk me into. I now know that I will be perfectly happy at the "lite" plan they have, at 1.5 mb, considering what I've been used to with dial up. It'll save me lots of money! So what do you have? Who's your provider, and do you have cable or DSL? I think it'll be interesting to see the variation.
