So, who uses Prezi? I just started using it--totally awesome. Are there any cool tricks/extras that I should know about on Prezi?

If you figure it out, please let me know. It reminds me of mash up of roller-coasters and powerpoints. :)

I could get addicted to Prezi. I made one for fun a couple of years ago explaining how I cook one special-occasion recipe. I rediscovered it this summer. I'd love to use it for my Open House presentation. Will need some time to play around with it. I love that it's a blank slate, but speaking from a time effectiveness standpoint, I might have to look to see if there are any templates or premade ones that I could change and use. :woot:

Isn't it cool? I'm still playing around with it for my Parent Night orientation. I could spend hours just playing, which is why I've already started. I'm hoping to "wow" them. :)

I have been using Prezi for spelling words and vocabulary stuff for my students--on the site there are templates you can choose from and by using that I've found it to be very quick. Maybe check out the templates?

Okay, I will have to get busy!

If you ever want to know how to make Lobster Bolognaisse, I'm your gal! Ha ha! (I may not be able to spell it, but I can cook it....)

Prezi is a terrible presentation tool in my opinion. It does a few things very well (primarily sequencing) but for any other type of presentation it is just like looking at a Geocities website circa 2001.

I sense that it has its hangups for sure just like any other presentation tool. I like it for simple things such as a way to make my spelling lists look more visually stimulating than just me writing them on the board, haha.

I like Prezi. I got into it a few months ago, actually I heard about it here. While it's great for a lot of things, it's not the best for everything. for my lessons I still stuck to Powerpoint, it was easier to create and for the students to follow, but occasionally I made Prezi presentations.

the only drawback for me, is that if I'm working with it constantly, it's easy and quick, but if I take a break, I have to spend some time to get back into it. I haven't touched it for awhile, so if I was to do a presentation now, it would take me longer than before.

I actually had my students create prezis for a research/presentation project. They loved it, and taught me a few things I didn't know about it, like how to add youtube videos.

It's okay, but I think it's a bit distracting especially for students who have trouble with attention. I'm a very linear person in terms of my lesson presentation and development.

I like the novelty of it, but I don't find it practical at all. For one, I didn't like how cumbersome it was to go back a few slides when needed.

This. That's how I see it, too. It's a neat tool, but I think other programs/presentation sties do similar things better or at least easier.

It doesn't play nicely with my remote clicker, either.

Don't give up! the first time i tried, I was totally lost and frustrated. Played with it for 30 minutes, and it was just so different.

A few days later I went back to it, because I was determined, and this time things just fell into place. I'm glad I did.
