Yesterday was my first day back to work (administrators returned yesterday and teachers return on August 13th). I am already working on the daily schedule (recess, lunch, etc), instructional aides' schedule, and teachers' yard duty schedule.

Okay...back to work! I need to start my yoga breathing so I can calm down!

I'm sure it will be a lot at first and then calm down a little bit for you once you get into the routine of things. Congrats again on the job! :thumb:

Sounds like it is going well so far. I am sure it will take some getting used to, but that´s part of the excitement of it as well.

When did you become assistant principal? I am sure you will do well. How big is the school you are at?

Gosh, I find this so exciting! :)

I have a difficult time wrapping my head around scheduling...I'm just not logical enough, I guess? I would end up leaving one class entirely without lunch, doubling up recess, and Lord knows what else.

    Anyway, enjoy!

I said this in your other thread, but it's going to be fun reading about your job as an AP. Teachers don't get to pick administrators' brains very often!

I interviewed on July 22nd and was offered the job the same day. The site I'm at has a little over 700 students. About 95% of the student body is comprised of English Learners.

My AP says that scheduling is the hardest part of her job. Remember, you cannot make everyone happy. Work from last years schedule and you will do great!

Have a great year and remember schedules are not set in stone.

Congratulations! That is very exciting! I would say the staff is fortunate to get you if you are as thoughtful in person as you are on here.
