    Hello All,
I've been working and teaching abroad now for 6 years. I've been teaching students in grades K-12. I will be moving back to the USA soon and was just wondering where would be a good place to start looking for a teaching position? All suggestions are welcome. Thanks.

Let us know if you have a preference of area or urban/suburban/rural etc. so we can make better suggestions.

I'm open to any area really. Preferably somewhere on the west coast. Maybe in Washington....near Seattle.

Well I can only speak for where I live, in the St. Louis area. I'm not in the inner city, but the counties outside of the city. It took me 3 years, but I always had interviews. I had assistant and sub jobs in schools that I took for experience so I could improve in interviews. I had interviews out of school, but my initial problem was doing well in them. So I would say we have jobs here and some great districts in the county if you feel prepared. Don't know when you're looking, though. My district seems to have hired most everyone they need a this point. However, I always question people when they say they moved to Missouri from exotic places :p

Are you planning ahead for next year or do you want a position for 15-16? If it's this year, light a fire! My district has filled all of our positions.

Thank you all for your suggestions. I will be looking for 2016 most likely.

I could be wrong, but I think the Seattle job market for teaching positions can be tough. If anyone can say otherwise, I would like to hear, because Seattle interests me too. :)

Are you certified in the US?
