The Catholic school called me this morning and offered me the job teaching 5th grade English and Social Studies. The principal is so nice and complimented me so many times on the quality educator he knows I am. He said when I left the interview they looked at each other and said, "Now that's a REAL teacher". I asked for a day to think about it. Then I called the public school that checked my references. I had to leave a message so I am waiting for them to call me back and I am praying that they call me back before tomorrow. One of my references said she was told they are considering me for a 6th grade position and that my experience put me above the rest. I hope I hear something back from them today!
Good news! That is so nice that you now have the Catholic school to fall back on. The new teacher next to me taught at a Catholic school for 13 years and just loved it!!!!!
The public school called me back! I am so excited! He said he was hoping to talk with me today because they wanted to offer me a full time permanent 6th grade position. I will find out the subject next week but most likely it will be math I met with the Assistant Superintendent today and it is official. I GOT A JOB :woot:
I am so happy for you! I've been following your story since back in June when we had the 6th grade math/language arts interview on the same day. We will be teaching the same grade and subject, so hopefully we can help each other out.
That would be great! It all worked out in the end. I remember when we had interviews on the same day. I think I will be happier at the school I am going to be teaching at than the one I interviewed with on that day. I can't wait to see my classroom. My school is HUGE and brand new, but I only got to see the office so far! Have you set your classroom up yet? When does school start for you?

School starts Wednesday. I have been in my class for a couple of weeks and am all set up. I will finish up teacher orientation tomorrow. When does school start for you?
Good for you. I am hoping to hear something with regards to several positions that i've applied for at two different schools i've applied for (haven't interviewed yet). I pray that i'm as fortunate as you. Best of luck as school begins.
