I had a job interview that seemed like it went really well, but I wasn't asked for references. Has anyone been contacted later for references or gotten a job offer without being asked for references?
How long ago was it? They might end up contacting you for references if they want to make you an offer. They might not see the need to ask unless you have a chance at being hired.
I'm sure if they want a reference they will ask for one. They could have 10 other people to interview after you so they might not be in a rush for that step of the process. If they wanted them ahead of time they probably would have asked when they notified you about the interview.
You didn't put the references information in your application? I've never seen a job application that didn't ask the applicant to include this information.
A private school that follows standards closer to those outside education where it is common to give references when actually necessary? They are rare, but I've seen a few.
Within the last week, I've gotten two job offers where they did not check references. My first teaching job 10 years ago, they didn't check either. Public schools in NJ. Not sure why but some districts maybe are really desperate for teachers or your resume/interview speaks for itself and there is no need to speak to anyone.
No! The 1 position initially asked me to send the principal my resume, cover letter and copy of cert only. The other one made me fill out an applitrack but since I didn't have any rec letters yet, I left that part blank, since I was still waiting for people to write the letters, and just put the names and numbers....but they didn't call any of them because I asked those people! It's weird!
It could be that they will only check the references of the top 2 (or whatever) applicants if they are not sure who to hire. Like a tie breaker LOL
I have never applied for a job that did not ask for 3 letters of recommendation and references. When we did interviews, the P would only call references after he was pretty sure who he wanted. He might call the top 2 teachers we'd interviewed if it was close.
