hello everyone, went for an initial screening interview with a district today. The principal said there is about 35 candidates for the position I'm interviewing for. Then they narrow it down to 10 people for the second interview. Is it just me, but 35 initial interviews seems excessive for one position. What do you guys think? Did anyone experience this too ?

It seems pretty typical to me. When I was looking for a job in Connecticut it was super competitive. It was very hard to get the interview. Then when you moved to the second interview it is pretty intense! Hang in there!
