Ok, I know it is sad but after putting out countless applications and resumes since November of 2008, I got a call for an interview yesterday!!!! I have an interview today at 1130. I have never been this nervous! I had pretty much given up on ever finding a teaching job. This is a "screening" interview. But I am still really nervous!! It would be great to actually not live month to month wondering how I am going to pay the car payment. I am trying not to get my hopes up but I keep thinking about what lessons I can do and am so excited to just have an interview!! I will be back and let you guys know how it goes!
Well I think it went ok. I got asked a couple of questions that threw me a little but overall the Gentleman who interviewed me was really nice and I think I did pretty well. Now I get to play the waiting game!
Thank you guys. I asked on the phone what I needed to bring in and was told nothing. So of course I brought everything I had! Resume, cover letter, fingerprinting paperwork, and transcripts. The gentleman who interviewed me kept all of it and seemed thrilled that I was a "paperwork" person. He said I shouldn't have opened my transcripts. (Honestly was never told that! You would think I would know) So he told me if they needed a different set he would let me know. Is that a good sign or more of a "Don't call us we'll call you" type of situation? I know I missed a couple of questions. I am studying all of my information so that I am better prepared "when" they call for the follow up interview! :reading: I am newly motivated and have a great feeling about next school year!!!!
I think it was a good sign that they took your paperwork, especially if you weren't told to bring it. Good Luck!!!!
Thank you for replying! I am hopeful for a second interview!!! But I am also trying to not get my hopes up.
First of all, it's awesome that you had an interview so early in the hiring season! If you don't receive this particular position, you may have impressed them enough to be on their short-list for upcoming openings and there is still soooo much hiring season left for other opportunities in other districts. Do you mind my asking what grade level your interview was for? And what area of Texas?
I am a 4-8 Generalist, it was a "screening interview" for San Antonio ISD. So I live in San Antonio! I am hopeful this year!
