It's at a charter school that has no website. They sent me a letter telling me that they'd secheduled an interview for me  it says I'm interviewing with the principal and some other administrative sounding person, but that doesn't mean that they're interviewing music teachers, they're probably just interviewing everyone.

I'm far more nervous about getting lost or stuck in traffic than the acual interview itself, so think directional thoughts for me :)

    You've got 'em.

    Now knock them dead!

Would you consider doing a dry run tonight on the directions?

It's 45-50 minutes away and in an area that I do not want to be in after dark if I'm not sure about where I'm going. I'll give myself an extra 30-45 minutes or so to get lost or stuck in traffic. I have GPS on the phone and it's pretty helpful.

Would the area be a concern if you do get the job?

With the price of gas ($3.17 here!) and time at a premium this time of year, I can certainly understand why you would wait for morning.

I don't know the area. I'll find out tomorow if it's too bad, I can't imagine that it would be, but we'll see when I get there. I just moved to the Detroit metro and don't know much about it.

I drive a prius, so gas prices aren't really an issue for the commute.

Ok, I just looked at the directions on mapquest and it's 49 minutes. That means it's going to take me an hour and fifteen minutes with traffic and that commute is too far.

So, should I go anyway or cancel? I've had enough interview practice.

I would call and cancel politely.

That's what I'm going to do.
