This was a first for me. I received a text message from a principal asking if I can come in for an interview. No prior contact from the school has ever been made.
If I was a principal, I wouldn't want applicants having my personal phone number. I would be paranoid about it.

Who cares. You got an interview offer. Are you going?

Maybe they are trying to connect more with millennials :). I don't think giving her phone number out is a big deal. If someone turns out to be crazy, she can always block them.

Could be a work-only phone number rather than personal.

Good luck if you choose to take it.

I was going to say the same thing. It’s probably a district-provided phone.

I have received a text offering an interview before, but it was from a desperate charter school that I was not interested in.

I don't really like to get email interview requests because it seems unprofessional. Also, it is easier for me to cancel them. Do what feels best to you though.
