I'll be going to a job fair soon to look for teaching jobs out of state. I am in the south right now and very fed up with the state of education here. I am going to try one more year of teaching in a state where education is more valued and hope I love my job again.

I want to be ready for this job fair. I've never been to one, and I'm feeling a little rusty after 7 years of teaching.

What should I bring with me to a job fair? When I graduated, I made a portfolio, and not one living soul wanted to see it. Should I try again? Should I bring copies of transcripts? I know I definitely need my resume.

Bring your resume and have a portfolio ready. Nobody will glance inside it, ever, but it'll look weird if you don't have it in hand anyway.
