A position was posted in a district I talked to at a job fair. I really liked the person I talked to, and he told me to drop off the application as soon as the position was posted. Is it appropriate to email the person I talked to regarding my continued interest and the date I plan to drop off the application? I teach all day and want to make sure I can get there on a day he will be there.
I emailed the AP that I met at the job fair and he emailed me back and set up an interview for this week. Go for it, it can't hurt.
Sure, send a nice intro email! Reminding the person of your in person connection. Maybe don't include details of your schedule just yet (and wanting to interview with a particular person)--once offered an interview and finalizing the time, maybe a 2nd email saying what you're feeling to see this person again (excited, glad, whatever).
