I'm just wondering. I know there were a few of us, but it's very very quiet in here. Anyone else a Montessori teacher on these boards??

    Also here.
Although currently in a traditional elementary - a Montessori teacher at heart... Or at the very least, a model of education that gives students more than what I witness in traditional elem. (So very saddening...)

I am licensed in Art K-12 (soon to have a second endorsement in Elem. Ed.). However the recession has made opportunities that much more slim in areas like Art. I am currently a permanent substitute for an elementary school, covering absences in all grade levels and content areas. I am however, gathering my app. materials for Montessori training this summer.
I primarily grew up in Montessori schools. So now that I am teaching in a traditional program, I realize how little sense this type of instruction makes to me.

Good for you. Some of the best Montessori teachers I've worked with have gone to Montessori schools as a child. What age group are you getting your training with?

    Hi,

I'm a Montessori teacher! I'm certified at the 3-6 and 0-3 levels. I've taught in a Montessori school for 10 years. 4 years in primary, 6 in toddler.
