I'm no longer looking for a job (found one), but I've gotten 6 phone calls this past week from school districts looking for late fills for open positions.

Yes, last week heated up for me, too. I had a 2nd interview for the position that I'm in now. And 2 more interviews lined up that I didn't get to, because of accepting this position.

Here's a website that might help. I found it last week. It's fast and free to sign up. You can post your resume and cover letter. I saw jobs posted that were not posted on the ISD's website. Good luck! :p

Thanks! I'm signing up for this website right now. Hopefully it'll help me secure a job as I'm getting quite desperate.

    Thanks again!

Yes, definitely don't lose hope because sometimes hiring goes on even after school starts because the school realizes that they need to add another class for a certain grade.

That's what I'm hoping for Carebear. I really hope that's how I get hired.

For now, all I can do is hope for the best.

What positions did they want to fill? Do you mind telling which school districts called you?

i agree with not losing hope. even though i haven't found a job yet, i know that a lot of schools are doing their staff developments and starting school and are finding out who's really coming back or not. that leaves them pretty much stuck with what's left (hate to talk about myself like that, but it is what it is). and as long as i get the opportunity, why should i care that it took them a while to give it to me? a delay does not necessarily mean a denial. well wishes to everyone.

I have gotten sooooooooo discouraged. I have been job-hunting better yet "job-hounding" since April and have gotten ZERO calls. Currently, I am still applying and praying for someone to give me a chance. Thanks so much for threads like this. I know I'm not alone...
