I have my dream job after two years of long-term subbing. I was almost ready to give up on teaching, because my subbing experiences were discouraging. With everything going on in education, everyone I worked with was so stressed. Both schools I subbed in happened to be obsessed with data to the point, almost, of forgetting that you actually have to focus on teaching in order to get good data! Plus I was so tired of interviewing, so very tired, I nearly decided to just look for jobs in another field. Anyway,my point is do not give up if you are still looking. And if you land in the wrong place, keep looking. Be gracious with every single principal and committee, because even if they reject you once, they may call you back and end up hiring you. That is what happened to me. I am now so happy I literally cannot wait to get to school everyday. I teach preK and it can be exhausting, but it is the most fun you can have while still getting paid. I have a little guy on the spectrum who I worry about but even that is achallenge that I welcome. Job hunters, don't give up!!!!! It will happen. Keep looking because the right job is out there!
