After posting last night about how I was crying since no one had even called for an interview, a principal called me today. It's for a .4 position at a great school about 20 minutes from my house. I really need a full time job, but I could always ask my current boss (non-teaching job) if I could go down to part time so that I can do both.
The interview is Tuesday. I am so excited to even hear back from anyone that they want to sit down for an interview. Even if I don't get it, it feels like a step in the right direction.

Thanks everyone. I am so excited and nervous, but mostly excited. I spend most of my days picking up my cell phone and checking to see if someone called. This time someone did. I am going to do my best to ace this interview and see what happens.

Ah, that's wonderful. I'll keep you in my prayers.

Remember to keep your personality in that interview. All those things your husband loves about you should be there for the interviewers to see. Sure, they want the right answers, but no on answer IS the interview. More than answers, they want the right person. Show them that you're that person.

Ah, what could be greater than playing a round of golf with the gator?

Ah, that's right. An interview could be.

Good luck and let us know how it goes!

I heartily second Alice's advice. I finally was able to relax these past few interviews and speak from the heart. I even teared up at one point talking about a student, but they didn't mind and were completely moved by my story, as well. Speak from your heart and include stories about your students whenever possible. Be the person who they simply cannot let get away. Believe in yourself and they will, too!
