Hi again, Is it ok to email a Thank You? I had an screening interview on Tuesday, but didn't get a chance to send a thank you right away. I want to use email and then send a hard copy. How do admins. respond to that?
I think that the formal thank you note mailed is more appropriate and professional. just my opinion though
It depends on the turn around for being notified of a decision. If the decision is to be quick, then email. Otherwise, snail mail it.
I agree with jw. I just had an interview on Thursday and they told me I'd know by Wed. I mailed out my Thank you notes to the admins. If they had said they'd be making their decision by last Friday or Monday, I would have emailed the thank you notes. In your case, email...It is better to send a thank you note than not to send one at this point. Good luck!
It's totally appropriate to email a thank you letter. My principal was very impressed with the quality of writing and timeliness of some of the email thank you notes our committee received.
Thanks all, I did send a thank you letter via snail mail. Although I did not hear from them - and they are doing second rounds of interviewing this week, so I guess I was not picked
I usually send an e-mail thank you...to keep ME fresh in their minds (rather than a snail mail version that makes them go "who was that one?"). But this spring I sent a snail mail one. Same results. The only responses to strictly the LETTER came from an e-mail "thank you" in the form of an e-mail "you are welcome". THAT was from a principal who put me into his district's preferred hiring pool (ie. it was a screeening interview). So, I'm not sure what matters to principals. What I DO know is that one snail-mail handwritten note took me nearly a full pack of thank you notes to get looking PERFECT! $$$
