As I drove past 90 miles of sticks today, I started thinking about how much I miss green! In NC, trees were always fully leafed (a word?) by the first week of April. Here in MI, we are just starting to see buds in southern lower Michigan. Where I work (central lower Michigan) still really doesn't have buds. So, is it green yet? I know NC and south is! Ohio, Kentucky, WV, Indiana- is there an end in sight? Please tell me there is!! (I was going to ask this on fb, but I don't have many Ohioan friends.)
I'm in the South! Love the green too. I love living in the South because of the weather. HECK, I LOVE the humidity and what it does for my skin.
I'm in Central Cali, and yes it is green! The temperatures have been in the upper 80s lately. As I drive on one highway I go through farms. The smell of the orange trees blooming is amazing. I actually have a few orange trees in my backyard and this was the first time I've smelled orange flowers - I had never been close to a blooming orange tree up until now. The bees already came and left. I had oranges, flowers and bees all at the same time. I'm not sure how much green we'll see though, we have a major water crisis here.
It's getting green here in central Texas. Of course it's also in the 60s presently after being in the upper 70s...
In Colorado, it depends on the day! It was in the upper 70s the other day, and then it was snowing the next day... nothing unusual for this time of the year, unfortunately.
Not all green yet...I've got daffodils, hyacinth, tulips and crocus up and blooming, my weeping cherry is about to bloom, forsythia bright yellow welcoming spring...and a dusting of snow two days ago.
Green is the one color we don't see very much in Southern Arizona But we do get a heck of a lot of desert wild flowers
We're not even 'not white' yet... my hope and prayer is that we are 'not white' by June. Green will be icing on the cake.
We got snow a few days ago. The mountain of snow out my classroom window (been there since December) is down to a tiny pile.
We're in a massive drought right now. We haven't been green for a few years. It's really hard to go to other areas and see green, then get home and realize how bad it is!
We got snow the same day you did, giraffe. We had a school-wide contest going--students predicted when our school yard would be completely free of snow and ice. Sometime over last weekend, the snow disappeared, so any student who had picked a date over the weekend "won". The next day, it snowed again, so the contest was back on . I think there'll be more winners on Tuesday when we're back at school.
I'm in southern Indiana, and it's been green for a few weeks. In fact, we're now into the stage where EVERY.SINGLE.TREE has blossoms on it...can you tell I have horrible tree pollen allergies?
I suffer from allergies, too. Tree pollen is the only thing that doesn't trigger them, thankfully! I am very allergic to grass, though Even sitting directly on it will make me break out. I have to take several medications before I can mow the lawn.
I just really looked at my yard yesterday when my dog was out. My grass green! Some crocuses and other stuff is coming up! My bleeding heart bush is coming up and that's my favorite. I REALLY love spring! It seems we went from white to green and I don't remember anything in between. We did get some snow the other night but it didn't stick thank goodness since it had been almost 70 degrees the day before.
Lucky you! My mom said to suck it up! And then I bought a house and lived alone. No one to do it but me... That is the only thing I hated about being a homeowner.
There are spots of green...like wild onions, my irises, hostas, tulips, daffodils are all starting to come up.
Lucky you! Our grass is getting green but the trees are not. I see a few more buds today. I want daffodils and tulips...... Oh, and of course, leaves!
I've mowed my grass twice already. I'm in Kentucky. I have lots of flowers coming up, and the trees are just starting to get green.
Not too many buds on our trees yet, but the honeysuckle in the field behind our fence is in full swing!
