I love Arthur and think the show is absolutely hilarious. I was at the teacher store today and I found a cute poster set thing that would fit perfectly above my classroom library. I got it home and I was really happy, but then I started wondering if Arthur was too babyish for 1st? I hope not!
Not at all!!! I use Arthur books and videos. I actually have an Arthur graphic organizer that we use when we study story elements. They kids at this age really like Arthur!
Arthur is not too babyish. They can feel more grown-up than DW and look up to Arthur and his 3rd grade buddies!
My classes have always loved Arthur books. They enjoy in particular the one about Arthur babysitting.
No way! My kids LOVEEEEE Arthur as much as I do. I use Arthur books for a bunch of reading strategies including text to text and text to self connections. They work beautifully!
I think you're safe! My class really enjoyed Arthur last year. Who makes the set that you purchased? I would love to add Arthur to my classroom decor!
My first graders do an author study on Marc Brown and they love Arthur. Arthur books have an Ar level perfect for first and second grade level readers! I want to go buy an Arthur stuffed animal to display on my library along with our author study bulletin board.
I'm not sure, but I will check and get back to you! I found this one online, but it was a little too small for what I needed: http://tinyurl.com/5989w7 It is really cute though! Uhg, that link won't work for some reason. But if you follow it, and go to the Demco site, and search "Arthur" it is the 3rd one down that says "We love to read!"
