Has anyone used iPod touches as clickers? We have a bunch of iPods, and I would really like to figure out how to use them. Is it through an app or a website?
I haven't used it myself, but I've seen them being used in workshops, and I think it's an app. Have you checked the itunes/app store?
I did, but I don't want to pay for an app before I'm sure it is what I want. I was hoping someone would have experience with an app. One site I found said you create a Google doc, and link it on a website (which I can do on my own site), then have the kids access the site, and use a certain app to answer the questions. We can handle that, but if there is a more streamlined process, I would definitely go with that.
I have it on mine. I used Turning Points because that's the brand of clickers that I have. I have 32 clickers, 9 of which are worn out. And I have 35 kids per class period. We can use the iPods.
I have the Activ Inspires clickers to go with the Promethean board. I've used them a few times and I'm not too excited about them. Right now, I've only used them with multiple choice questions. After about the sixth question, the ADHD kids were bored to death. So was I. I think they'll have better use when I use them to graph responses or have more interesting choices to choose from and then have debates from those answers. I need to expand their use into something more than a multiple choice answer clicker thingy.
So does your school provide iPods for every student? I'd like to hear more about that. I posted a query a few days ago.
No but we were part of a consortium of schools which got a grant to buy a bunch. We have about 50 of them. Which is a bunch considering we have 73 kids 7-12.
