My fiance gave me his old iPad. Frankly, I don't know what to do with it, even though I've been to several inservices on using iPads in the classroom. I'm considering using it to organize myself. What aps are good?

Lesson Note is pretty cool. You can walk around the class and take notes/make anecdotal observations.

QuickGrader is helpful because I am constantly misplacing my EZ Grader!

This won't help with work but I highly recommend downloading Plants vs. Zombies. It's a fairly expensive game for apps but it is so fun. 

All of my students are special diploma alternately assessed students if it makes any difference in your suggestions. I might also download some apps for them, but my main focus is organizing myself!

Dropbox.....stores all your files in a cloud (like an invisible flash drive) so you can access them from anywhere.

If you're looking for an organizer app, I would suggest Organizer HD. That's what I use to keep tracking of meetings, to do lists, etc. Sticky Notes is also a good one. It's basically jotting a note down on a sticky note virtually rather than having a million of them on your desk or other various parts of your classroom.

I use mine as a timer, to take notes, to grade, show videos in small groups...once you start it;s hard to stop.

With your personal management apps, you can also download apps that will help you in your classroom too like TeacherTool, Numbers from Apple and TeacherPal etc.

I'm reviving this thread because my director is getting all us SLPs (speech-language pathologists) iPads. I don't know squat about them & I don't really have use for the ones already listed in this thread.

Does anyone have any app ideas for the following types of issues?

    - articulation
    - anything to do with language
    - blends (bl-, br-, st-, etc.)
    - fluency...NOT reading fluency, but speaking fluency for those who stutter

In the meantime, I'll see what I can find out.
