    Hello,

I'm starting at a new school this year, and I wanted to write a quick email introducing myself to the staff. If you had a new staff member joining your team, what would you want to know about them, aside from prior teaching experience?

Your new team probably knows a lot about you if they had anything to do with your interview and hiring process.

I actually have never met anyone at the school aside from the principal.

Your contact info so we could invite you out to lunch before the school year starts. ;)

I would make it short. Introduce yourself, say you are looking forward to being part of the team. Just friendly note. Don't go into prior teaching experience because they already know you are qualified for the position and you don't have to sell yourself. I would mostly want to know that the new hire was a friendly team player.

If you bake (and the staff's not too large) you could mention that you'll be bringing a batch of your famous chocolate cherry cookies on the first day. Again, friendly words that show you are going to be easy to work with.
