I'm searching for a fun, exciting way to introduce nouns to my class of first graders. I will be a lengthy unit so I am anxious to get them very excited to begin.
Any ideas will be helpful :help:

I teach that nouns are the "star" of the sentence. Then I give them oral sentences and ask for ideas of what the noun could be...who is the star of the sentence. I do this all the time to kick off a writing activity. Remember to teach grammar, punctuation and parts of sentences within the context of a writing assignment or writer's workshop minilessons. Teaching in context is the best way.

We are starting nouns this week so I will also be interested in any clever ways to teach this. Good idea Pattie!
