Interviewing Where I Student Taught: What Should I Expect?

    "Even their best interview is only ever going to be 15 minutes, compared to this poster who spent 3-6 months chumming it up with the principal and teachers."

    While I didn't get a chance to chum it up with the principal (I wish I had, but it's a campus of nearly 4,000 and I hardly saw him), I definitely put my best foot forward every day for several months. Was my comment self-righteous? No. Self-aggrandizing? Maybe.

    In any event, I'm not taking your...pragmatism personally. I'm just pointing out that your comments addressing this "flawed system" seemed to undercut your well wishes. It came off as a backhanded complement, but I'm not upset about it. Perhaps I should have just said:

    Thank you for the well wishes.
