Well, I FINALLY got a call today (they left a voice mail) and they want me to call back to set up an interview. I'm going to try to call them before work tomorrow which would be around 7:30. I hope it's not too early for them! This school is an hour away but I figured I might as well go for an interview at least!! Don't know the details of the job yet but will need help from you guys to prepare :D

Do you know which grade level?

Check out the county website and see if there's a scope & sequence... at least you'll have an idea of the material to talk about.

High schools = love people willing to host a club/after-school activity.

All I know so far is that it's High School. I'm going to look over the school's website, e-mail my friend who is an English teacher and see if there's anything "new" I should know about regarding state standards, and freshen up my portfolio. I haven't taught this subject in years but I hope that doesn't hurt my chances.

I would say to go into the interview with confidence and go over the interview questions in the job seekers board. I think that it is good that you thought of asking your friend who is an English Teacher some questions.

Yes, I think I have applied to about 15 positions and so far this is the only school that has called me back. I applied online ages ago and totally forgot about it!
