I have a phone interview for a job tomorrow! Woot!

It's for the Astronomical Society of the Pacific, which would be so much fun. As a science major, former science teacher, and graduate of the Space Camp for Educators, I would rock at this job. It would be developing curriculum and then delivering it to teachers through presentations.

Prayers are being accepted tomorrow at 3pm west coast time. ;) I'll let you guys know how it goes. I'm going to offer to go in and shake some hands afterwards, as I'm leaving Thursday morning for a weeklong trip to Michigan (bad timing, anyone?). Oh well. If it's meant to be, it will be!!!

Thank you so much, guys! I'm getting more nervous as the day progresses. I need to stop, because I'm very good at interviewing (the lady who just laid me off even said I blew her socks off at the interview), so I just need to stay calm.

I'm not sure. I'll def. be able to do the products part of it, but I may need to hold off on the decorating/design part of it. I'm still going full speed ahead with it, though, as there is no way I'm counting on getting this. I have several appointments today in regards to the business, so I'm going to keep those. With dh's help, we can totally do both. And my business, on top of a full time job, would help us get a down payment for a house within the next year if it's successful. It will change the approach, but not in a bad way.

And this doesn't sound like a job where I'd bring work home with me, like teaching. That's key. If you can work 9-5 and leave everything there, it's much easier to do things on the side.

Hey, guys! I just got back from a ton of running around this evening. I think it went well. They never say 'it went great' or 'forget it' on the phone, but they did ask when I would be available next week. So I'm hoping that's a good sign. I felt I could hold my own with all the questions, although I don't know who I'm up against. I tried to emphasize that it would do them well to have a teacher in this position, because I understand where they are coming from, and what is reasonable in the classroom. One of their programs pairs astronomers up with teachers, and I said that a former teacher would understand how much work that would be on the teacher's end, and put in place measures that would help smooth the process.

We'll see! I'll keep you guys posted.

Oh, Jem, this sounds so right for you. You're right that their client teachers would appreciate having a teacher work with them. I would. You wouldn't suggest silly, impractical things.

Asking when you're available next week is a good sign. Did you make an appointment to talk again?

    Here's to your success!

And I'm hard at work on your awesome idea we discussed last week. I even found five pocket charts today. ;)

I think it's a golden proposition! I cannot believe you found five pocket charts. The teacher swaps I have been to usually have one or two and they're swiped up before the show opens. You're on to something if you found FIVE today. I'll be your first customer.

Oh yes. And a yacker tracker. And I haven't officially started. Dh doesn't know I've been nosing around yet-I'm suppose to wait until after I get back from MI and have the warehouse space to stick stuff. But I couldn't help myself.

    Oh-and I got them all for 50 cents each. Wahahahah-I'm a master negotiator. ;)
