After sending out 45+ applications I get a phone call asking for an interview! Unfortunately, the Principal didn't realize I was still out of state but they want to complete interviews by Monday before noon. (I am also teaching summer school and don't really have 30 min of "free time" to do an interview besides lunch...subbing is frowned upon especially with me since I uncontrollably was very very sick for 3 days) so, before I realized he didn't know I was still out of state, I got a time for 11am. Figured I could get my para to cover for 25 min and take the kids to lunch. Now I just need to find an area within the school to myself.....

After I pointed out to him that I was still out of state and wouldn't be in state for another 2 weeks, he said he would have to get a hold of me later tonight as he had to contact all of his team to see what they had to say about that. Well, he called me a little before 5 and now it's 9:30pm....I don't think he's calling = (

It is Friday night, it might be tomorrow before some people get his message and return the call. Don't give up yet.

Thanks....trying to be positive but it's easy to lose sight of that when you are focused on what something was said.... :)

I hope it rubs off on me! lol I've been unknowingly stressing myself out so bad that I have been getting EXTREME headaches (not migraines). They have been so bad that I haven't been able to function. Yesterday I had to stay home as I ended up giving myself flu like symptoms. Slept night before 8pm-7am then Thursday 8am-4pm, only waking up for 2 10min times to go to the bathroom.....: /

The headaches were what changed my attitude. One day last week I said, "I have a constant headache, no matter what I do I cannot get rid of it." Then my husband said, "Have you tried to quit stressing over the job search?" It took me a week, but the heachache is gone, well, most of the time. :D

lol nice. I've been setting time aside to "relax". It's hard, though, being a single mom of a toddler, trying to find a job, place to live, packing, and working in order to be able to move.....

That is tough! I have 2 children, it makes everything harder because you cannot just think about yourself. I have taken some time to take my kids to the park this week. I meet with a friend and we unload while the kids play, it has done wonders for me. This is also a free activity which is the only kind I can afford right now! Just try to think of something that would be fun for both of you and do it. That toddler needs a sane mom. :p

One thing you can say for this principal, he wants to hire quickly and is dedicated to his job. He's still working on interviews at 5pm on a Friday night!

Good luck and I hope you get the opportunity to interview!

Well, he called me this morning stating the team "didn't feel comfortable" doing a phone interview with the 1st round of interviews. Whatever : (

Sorry this interview didn't work out. Keep trying. One of our teachers, who is from England, landed a job for next year in England all the way from here, in Mexico. They let her do Skype interview (and she was competing with other teachers already in England), so while some schools might not be comfortable conducting interviews from afar, others are quite willing. So, keep at it!

You're right. He said to keep looking for other open positions at the school and apply closer to when I'm there because they would really like to talk with me.

I'm wondering if I should do a letter thanking him for the opportunity for an interview and apologizing that it didn't work out then include my little brochure?
