Interview went great! I won't know until Wed. They loved what I was wearing though. The waiting is going to kill me!

 thanks, leigh! I need to go write my thank you cards. And of course, I'm reading through the forum and finding some great ideas that could have been used in the interview....but oh well!

I'm sorry =( I'm still waiting to hear on my interview from last week too--not very positive about it as someone else recently heard from the same district.. I'm feeling your pain!

Oh my goodness, stg. I read that and my heart started racing...it really, really irks me. Evidently, the admin you've been working for a year now are just about complete idiots.

I am so very sorry STG :( Obviously, the school doesn't know what they're missing by not hiring you. I hope someone else picks you up. You deserve so much more, especially after working with them for a year now. They should know better. Hugs.

I was really hoping that you would get this job. I hope this setback does not deter you from looking elsewhere.

Unbeknowst, he said I didn't sell myself enough.

What stinks is I gave up a teaching job a distance away to take an aide position in this school, just to be passed over.

Keep fighting, stg. As I always say, this may be a blessing in disguise. Something better may come along, and if not right away, rest assured there is a reason that this job did not work out for you. Praying for you!

This makes my blood boil.

stg, last fall, a week into my long term assignment, I received a call to interview. I declined because I didn't want to burn any bridges in the district that I was LTSing in with hopethat as a result of my long term placement, I would find a job in the district. I received a district level screening interview, but so far, not any campus-level interviews and I'm doubtful.

I think it shows that everyone needs to be in it for themselves.

It happened to me too! I was faithful to the 2 districts I was subbing for and both interviewed me but neither one hired me. A third district did! Hang in there STG.

Ok.... Here is the deal. Send the P a thank you note. Tell him that you appreciated the interview. Then, politely talk about some of the duties you have had as a para and tell him that you would love to interview with him again at any time if any other positions become available. Let him know that your heart is in having your own classroom and that while the experience has been a beneficial one as a para that you will be looking for a position over the next coming weeks in a classroom setting. Thank him again and let him know that it would be your absolute joy to teach at his school, and that if given the opportunity at a later time, you would prove to be an asset to the faculty. All the best. You never know what other opportunity is around the corner, and you might need this person as a reference or he might hear of a position at another school and recommend you.

PS- That does not mean that I don't want want to punch the guy in his stomach!

I learned this many years about emmakate. I sit here and can't believe how many teaching interviews that I turned down when I was a parapro.:dizzy: I know I wouldn't be stuck in the school that I'm in now...
