So I have an interview today at 12.30 at a public school..they are hiring for several positions...any words of advice????
Be confident, give a firm handshake, look them eye and shine * Have a fake interview with yourself *take a second before you answer each question to calm yourself * if they ask if you have every used DI or are familiar with RTI or something else you have never heard of, be honest. Tell them this is what you love about teaching, the opportunity to always learn more Good luck and keep us posted crossing fingers and toes for you at 12:30
Thank you guys! yeah I have never used DI but I know a little about it..but I am more than willing to learn anything
I think being calm is the most important thing because you are able to think of things more easily. So my last minute piece of advice is to arrive early and sit in the car for a minute. Check your teeth for lipstick, take long deep breaths and say some positive affirmations, Stuart Smalley style! Knock em dead!
Good Luck! Be confident, and look through the interview questions thread. That helped me a lot when preparing for my interview.
Smile...Try to be energetic to let your passion for teaching show through! Good luck!! Knock 'em Dead!
Good luck!! Your probably doing your interview right now so keep us posted on how it went!! Be confident more than anything!
So I am back..it went well The principal told me that if I do get hired, that HR, not him would contact me...I have never had a principal say that to me before......I wonder if that is a good or a bad thing?
I'm glad it went well! I think who contacts you is just a matter of the district's procedure. I was contacted by an HR person when hired for my last job.
