Hi I have an interview with a school district back in my homestate. They are very interested in me and was impressed with my cover letter and resume. They have offered to do a phone interview. They told me that at least 3-4 other employees will be interviewing me such as principal, asst principal, teacher, and aide. It should be interesting. I am grateful that they are willing to do a phone interview. I believe that if they are interested, they will accomodate me with living so far away. They wanted to know when I will be moving back and if I would be willing to come in and meet everyone. I agreed. If I get this position, it would be great. It is in small school district along the coast. My family used to take vacations about 20 miles up the coast. It is about 2 hours away from my family. The position is a middle school resource room. I did let them know that they will not get a good reference from my previous school. I told them that it was not a good fit and I missed my homestate. They thanked me for being honest and they still want to interview me. Maybe this is a good thing. Another chance. Thanks Jennifer
Good luck! It sounds like your cover letter and resume really impressed them and they probably appreciated your honesty.
Good luck, I had a phone interview with a panel yesterday. Just keep up the honesty and try to portray to them through the phone who you are.
Hi Thank you for all the warm wishes and thoughts. I am starting to get nervous because it is such an ideal position. It is everything that I hope and wish for. I just hope that I get it. I would be so disappointed if I don't. This school is looking for 2 resource room teachers. The previous two teachers were involved in the services and had to quit. I have applied to so many positions. This is getting insane. I send off packets, email stuff, call people and sometimes gets no responses. I almost feel like it is a game. Districts wants certain documents sent to them. Other districts want something different. Can't they all agree on one thing. It is nerve racking. I never ran into this when I applied fresh out of college and I am a special education teacher. thanks Jennifer
Hi Had interview this morning. It went well. They asked a question about the identification process and I told them that I would use the RTI process before identify. They were glad that I said that. They also asked questions about classroom management and dealing with aides. I had an aide but I pushed her into gen ed so much to support my students. Also, there is a question about curriculum materials and documentation. They said that they have to interview other applicants because of a process. They will let me know by next Friday of their answer. This job and school seems like a great fit. I was impressed with how the principal answered my questions. Now the waiting game begins and I will continue to apply to other jobs until I get an answer. thanks Jennifer
