This week I interviewed for a middle school position, and they're now checking references.

Today I received an invitation to a Kindergarten interview at a school that I like a bit better, but within the same district that is already checking my references.

Should I go ahead and schedule this interview, or will that mess with what I already have going on? I don't know how this works. I've only interviewed with smaller districts before now.

You should absolutely go on the interview. Many people here will tell you to interview until you have an offer in hand.

I know that for me at the beginning of the summer, a district called all my references and HR offered unofficially, but I still didn't end up with a position in that district.

Thanks. That's what I was thinking. Just wasn't sure how it worked when you get multiple interviews within the same district; my current district is so small, we don't even have an official HR department.

Now to plan a 20 minute demo lesson!
