Hey everyone. I have an interview today that I'm really looking forward to, and it's going to be in the 90's in NYC. I am doing the full suit thing. I'll put on my blazer once I get to the school. I know this sounds silly, but how should I do my hair on such a hot day? I have shoulder length hair. My hair isn't really long enough for a neat bun. Do you think I can get away with a neat ponytail? Thanks for any feedback.

Hi...I had this same problem a last month. It was 95 degrees outside and I, too, wore a full black suit. I was dying lol.
Anyways, I blew my hair out straight to cut down on frizz and then I pulled it up-half up/half-down- with a clip. It was still on my neck, but at least out of my face.
I would only do a ponytail if you can get it up high. Low ponies seem too casual to me. I think whatever you do that is neat will be fine.

I think a low ponytail with the elastic wrapped with hair looks nice and not too casual.

You could pull it back with a nice looking clip instead of a hair tie.

Can you pull it back and then put it back down when you change into your blazer?

I think a low pony looks better for an interview.

How about a messy bun? I know it sounds like messy is unprofessional, but it actually isn't. There are lots of tutorials on Youtube or Pinterest, I never do a neat bun, but often do a messy bun.
If your hair isn't long enough for the regular, neat bun, the messy type will work. You just need a lot of bobby pins :)

Low pony or pinned up....as politically liberal as NYC is, when it comes to hiring its best to go with a polished, professional conservative look.

I'd say whatever makes you comfortable. As long as you don't look like you just got out of bed, I don't think anyone will really even notice. The last thing you want on an interview day is to be thinking about your hair.

Thanks so much for the replies! I wound up just doing a low ponytail.
