Hi everyone. I am a certified level 1 TA, I have been subbing at a couple of local school districts for the last two years and have been called in for an interview at a different school district for a TA position. I am just curious what type of questions I might encounter so that I can prepare a little bit. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Probably some questions about how you would handle stress and challenging behaviors, as well as how to work best as part of a team and what to do if you disagree with a coworker.
Depending on whether or not they have a certain classroom/child in mind for your position, they might ask you specific situational questions based on the classroom/student. During my interview for my current position, they asked me if I had any experience working with selective mutes/students with PDD-NOS, how I would handle hypothetical scenarios based on these students.
I know one question that I was asked was, what would you do if a parent came to you upset or angry about their child's grade/progress while the primary teacher was not present?
Thank you so much for the responses so far The interview is for a reading TA position, any thoughts on the type of questions for this particular job?
It was for K-6. The interview went well but I don't think I'll get it because I have limited experience writing up lesson plans (been a sub for only two years and no need to write them, just did some in college) and that is part of the gig. It was a learning experience and is pushing me to get going on getting more experience in that area so not a total loss thanks everyone for the replies!
