Or even preteen, young teen. We are ordering books for our library. I am putting in a Scholastic order this week. What are some good titles that would appeal to boys. I'm talking 5, 6, 7 and 8 grade levels. We have the Hunger Games series. Insurgent. Looking for other titles, series...do you have some suggestions?

    Rick Riordin--all his books
Gone, Vanished, etc...my fifth grade boy LOVES these although they are not available at Scholastic...it is about a society where all adults disappear.
The Book Thief (not sure if it is appropriate--my fifth grader is reading it,,,)
    Harry Potter series
    The "I survived" series (?)

Touching Spirit Bear is always a hit with boys this age, in my experience...plenty of blood and guts but also deals with issues of bullying and justice.

Yes, the Alex Rider series are incredibly exciting. A great choice for middle school boys.

You can try these books for your students. I am pretty sure that they will like these books. The list of the books is
    • I am the Ice worm by Maryann easley
    • Baseball in April and other stories by Gary soto
    • the Light Princess by George Mcdonald
And there are various books which teenagers will love to read and write.

Hatchet and Freak the Mighty appealed to both the boys and girls in my 5th grade class.

My son is in 8th grade and just read Sleeping Freshmen Never Lie and he liked it. He also loves the Middle School and I Funny books by James Patterson.
