    Hi All,

Thought you might be interested in this...

I was given permission by Jimmy Sweeney to "give-away" his latest ebook entitled, "Top 10 Secrets of the World's Greatest Cover Letter"

Not sure if all of his tips would work in the teaching profession, but it sure makes you think "outside-the-box" and who knows...one of his tips may be just what you need to get you the interview.

Either way, it is a good, quick read. Hope you enjoy!

I really liked this article, but wonder how professional using tip #1 (the bold and centered headline) and the P.S. thing would be. I'm thinking of doing #1....what do you all think?

Try it with one school. If you aren't getting the calls maybe this will be the trick to gettting one.
I only read the first couple tips. I just don't have time this morning.

I'm glad everyone is finding the report valuable...

I would love to hear some feedback on whether or not these tips actually worked. Hopefully, your phone will start ringing with lots of interviews. :D

Like I said in my original post, I am not sure if they would all work in the teaching profession.

However, I will say this...I have worked on countless interview committees and read well over a thousand cover letters and I NEVER saw one that really applied those strategies. If I did I would have DEFINITELY read it all the way through...it would have gotten my attention which is what you need to do in a cover letter.

When I sit down to read a stack of cover letters (sometimes as many as 100) they start to blend into one another and many only just get a glance.

Somehow, you need to separate yourself from the pack...maybe those tips are just the thing.

    Good luck,
    Adam

I tried using the attention getter on a few that I sent out over the weekend. I'm going to try the PS on some that I send this coming up weekend.
