    Sounds like a great idea. Although if kids just wanted to waste time they could easily continue talking and never get to class work. I can only see it working for certain grade levels, too. I teach K and I don't know if all of them would understand the "rating" bit.

    I think it would depend on the group. My class last year would never have been able to do it without physically removing a couple of "challenging" individuals. (I use challenging as a gross understatement.) However, my group this year would probably respond very well to it.
