    Hi everyone,

I have an instructional assistant/ one-on-one interview this week. Currently, I am a prek teacher at a preschool, I am certified up to 4th grade. However, I am ready to get into the public sector and gain experience. The interview did not say whether it would be a one-on-one or instructional assistant. I am wondering what types of questions I would be asked? Thanks in advance :)

I interviewed for 2 Assistant positions this year (both for SpEd)

The first one was mainly situation questions (what would you do if...?)

The second one had more typical interview questions
    "What is your educational/experience background?"
    "Why should we hire you?"
"What are some of your personality traits?"
"Do you have any questions about this position?"

How would you handle it if a parent asked YOU a question about their child?

What would you do if you had a conflict with the teacher?

How do you feel about possibly being left alone with students?

What is your experience with documentation?

Tell me what you know about IEPs

When I was a 1:1 in the my interview was very easy. It was with one person and lasted 15 mins or so. They asked me:

    Tell mw about yourself
    Why did you choose district-
Why do you want to work with kids at this age level
What experiences do you bring that are different from another employee
How would you work with the classroom teacher(s)
How do you feel communicating with parents
Do you have any more questions

All candidates who are interviewing are qualified, they are looking for one who stands out and will still be positive even in tough situations!
