My students are doing insect reports next week. Are there any websites out there that kids can read about specific insects at about second grade reading level? It needs to have information like where it lives, what it eats, how it protects itself from predators, is it harmful/helpful, etc. Does anyone know of anything? Thanks in advance!

this website has lots and lots of links for insect websites:

this one has a list of facts for individual insects:

I did an entire unit on spiders and insects when I did my student teaching. I had students cut out and label the body parts of an insect (which they really enjoyed) and then I used them as a hallway decoration.

I found this while googling: http://www.kathimitchell.com/insects.html
I'd be interested to hear what others have to share too. I usually teach insects also, but haven't gotten in depth with it the last couple years.
