    Hi everyone!
I got a call today for an informal screening interview. I was told that it would take about 15 minutes and would be with the principal and one other teacher. What does this entail? What do I take? I'm a little overwhelmed because I have been at the same job and it has been 9 years since my last and only interview. Please help - I need to return the call to set up a time for this and want to be fully prepared. Thanks!

My expereince in informal interviews is they ask you questions like why you want to teach, whats your classroom amanagement style, how do you meet different needs, that sort of thing...

They're going to have a sheet of paper with six questions on it and ask you those questions. Nothing thrilling

I actually like these screening interviews... they are more like talking to a friend. It's more personal.

Right, its basically a short phone interview with just a few questions (5 to 7 questions), just make sure you have at least 2 questions to ask the interviewers yourself.

The screening interviews I've had have ALL had the same few questions, like:

    * What are the four key components of a lesson plan?
    * When you begin to plan for the year, what do you consider?
    * How much do you want to know about your students?
    * What do you want your students to remember about you after they leave your classroom?

    Things to that effect.

Thanks for the input, everyone! This interview is scheduled for Thursday. I'm still not sure what to take. I have a huge portfolio from 9 years ago that I've continuously updated but I'm not sure what principals are looking for in 2007. Has anything changed that would help me during the interview?
