I am looking for activities for my students to do in small groups which are independent (literacy and math). I do 4 small groups per week (4 or 5 students per group - ages 3-5).

2 groups are the same each week (letter/alphabet knowledge and journals). 2 other groups SHOULD be independent activities that the students can work on without teacher help/guidance.

I would like ideas on activities to keep the interest of my 3-5 year old students and allow them to be independent.

    Thanks!

Can they be games for the groups to play together but w/o teacher assistance.

Independently we play roll the dice and move that many objects (one to one correspondence, numeral recognition or dice spot counting).

We also play, draw a card and move by playing candy land w/o rules as to directions you just go to purple when you get purple (social/emotional turn taking, working with peers, color recognition, visual translation between card and board)
