Hard to believe it's been 15 year since we lost Deirdre, her mom, and everyone else on TWA flight 800.

She would probably have been married now, with kids.

I'll always picture her, not as she was when I last saw her, at graduation, but at Precalculus extra help in her soccer uniform before practice.

I think it is beautiful that you mention her name today. I read the post from last year and wonder about her father...how he is, if the Alz. has progressed...?

I've not lost any students, praise the lord, and dread the day.

    Big hugs to you!

The last I heard, her dad was in pretty bad shape.

You are doing a wonderful thing, Alice, by keeping Deirdre's memory alive.

I commemorate a former student every year on September 9th because she meant a great deal to me. She was in my first class. It is beautiful to read this, too.

It makes me happy to see that you keep her memory alive Alice, not just as a student who passed away, but you remember her for who she was when she was with you. It's such a sad story but being able to focus on a positive aspect of the person's life helps the pain.
