In-general art room gripes!

    It's a sensory thing. Those erasers feel weird when they break up. (pretty good projectiles, too). AND a pencil makes a very nice leg for the eraser boot!! :D

    This drives me crazy, too.

    This must be the year of the scissors. More than usual this year I have serial scissor spinners and going HEY WHATS THAT?! (With the scissors in their hand as they are pointing to whatever it might be.....) I had a serious cut where my finger got in the way of a lil K as I was sitting something on her table. It was bleeding for awhile.

    I have resorted to passing out erasers almost every class. ......time consuming but necessary.

    Try the kneadable erasers. They can be twisted, torn off and then rolled back together like clay. My worst issue is kids steal the little scissors I have. They also break the plastic rulers. I guess some sort of incentive, like if they don't damage or steal anything then a privilege for the whole group. Peer pressures sometimes helps!
