I am way too sad to count down. I love my job and my kids are amazing.
1 month, 14 days, 5 hours, 21 minutes, 24 seconds. Can't come soon enough, :|

Wait a minute! We are not almost halfway through April already?!
I have so many countdowns right now!
2 more days of going an extra hour each school day to make up snow days...
17 days until we find out where my fiance's call as a pastor will be too (and therefore, if I will need to find a new job, if we need to start looking for a house right away, etc.).
47 days (34 school days) until the end of the school year.
77 days until our wedding!
Right here with you. I say this every year, but I'm going to be very sad to see this group move on. It's always a little sad... and kind of amazing too... to see how much children can grow in just a few short months.
Once Spring Break ends, 16 days until our Seniors are gone ... Praise the Lord.
39 days until the last day of school.

39 school days
46 school days until my last day of work
75 days until I take off for Scotland
I know we have less than 60 teaching days, but I don't start the official countdown until June.
We still have 54 teaching days left. I am very eager for the year to be finished. I love my kids and my current school, but we are moving to my dream location this summer and I cannot WAIT. I'm also working at a new school next year in a new grade level and I'm really excited.
We're on spring break right now, and if I count correctly, we only have 32 days left.

I hope everyone's hanging in there! This month's actually going by a little slowly to me.
I don't usually count, but I have hit the wall after a few incidents in the past several weeks (all involving other so-called adults, not students), so I counted yesterday - 21 days with students, 1 teacher work day.
20 days with students 1 teacher work day. 3 of those are make up snow days. I'm transferring to a new school within my district so I'm ready for this year to wind up.

What a variance in days left some of you have...from the 20s to the 50s!
30 if I count weekends.
23 if I don't.
I personally count actual work days.
Are you looking for an SLP job for next year?
I get out June 20...I really have no idea how many days that is...I 'm taking it a week at a time...standardized tests coming up, a writing celebration to plan, I'm in charge of a huge union year end dinner event...
24 days. It turns out our last week has 5 days, not 4, but I guess it doesn't matter, the whole day will be filled with fun day events.
I still rather count weeks (5) than days (24). It sounds less.

Why do you even care to ask?
I was just thinking if you're getting out of the school job market, the countdown changes, doesn't it? Like my friends who are not educators might count to their next day off or a planned vacation but there generally isn't the same kind of endings and beginnings as one has as a educational professional.
I have a coworker who just decided that she was going to retire. Her view on the countdown has changed. She has something different to look forward to now.

My view of the countdown changed, too. There was a very good chance that we were going to move this summer and I was going to have to look for a new job. I love my school, so the end of the year was going to be very bittersweet for me. Now, we are not moving, and I am okay with quickly wrapping up the year with this very difficult class. They are good kids, but very exhausting, and I'm just done. 19 school days (including field day, field trip, and a few other special events before the last day) and 2 teacher days, and then I'll be done and looking forward to a wedding and a honeymoon!
