So, just to share my humiliation, I have to share with all of you the stupid thing I did today. It's my b-day tomorrow, so I was at my parents' house for the weekend. My dad got the stuff for s'mores, and since we didn't have a campfire, I was making them on the gas stove. I finished, pushed the marshmallow off the fork I was using to hold it over the fire....then licked the marshmallow off the fork. Needless to say I burnt my lips on the hot fork pretty badly and spent the rest of the day sucking on ice cubes. :( It even sizzled when it touched my lips  How stupid!

OUCH!!! When we don't have a campfire, we always just use the microwave, though the gas stove would give it that campfirey type taste.

If you could rank on a scale of 1-10 the stupid things I've done, that would be about a 3.

Guilty of that many years ago myself! Hope you heal quickly. I think burns are worse than cuts.

Ouch!!! I saw on the marshmellow bag that you can make them in the microwave. They're great that way too! I did that with a few when we got home from camping..

They are tasty and messy!

Put a graham cracker on a plate, then top with a marshmellow, and a small piece of chocolate in the micro for a short time (forgot how many seconds) and then take it out with another cracker on top and enjoy the dessert!

by "small piece of chocolate" you mean half of a chocolate bar, right? :) That's the way we make ours.

I love making it in the microwave because I'm able to see the marshmallow puff up really big and then deflate. It's awesome!

I could totally see myself making that same mistake!! OUCH!

Ms. I, don't feel alone!!! I also never had a chance to eat s'mores. My parents never had them so they never introduced it to me and my brother. Then I became a vegan, so no marshmallows for me. MY geology teacher made s'mores when our geology class went camping a couple of months ago. I thought that was soooo sweet of him, but didn't have the heart to tell him that I couldn't eat it. I pretended to eat it and gave it to my friend to eat. Worked out fine. :D

I think they are way too sweet. I just eat the chocolate, and am happy.

Never try to file your nails with a Dremel.

Keep your head away from the moving part of the weed eater.

When riding a fixed gear bicycle, do not try to bunny hop over railroad tracks.

When you get finished rebuilding a vintage mountain bike, don't be in such a hurry to ride it that you do so before you have installed the brakes.

Just because it's a cop car, you're on a bike, and the speed limit is 25 mph, it's still not a good idea to try and draft behind him.

Never use your own limb as a cat toy.

Never get the day of her birthday wrong and then try to justify it by reminding her that you were early instead of late.

When you dig a big hole in your backyard, remember that you dug the hole the next time you go walking around there.

Always take the anarchy-themed punk rock posters down off of your barracks wall before the scheduled visit by the wing commander.

You've obviously never had acrylic nails - my salon uses a Dremel to smooth out and shape nails!

I was never really crazy about marshmallows, so that's probably why I was never dying to try them in this way! :D

Iowa teacher--I've done the same thing. We use the shikabob skews to roast marshmellows on the gas stove--I didn't think about it the first time we did it, but I'll tell you what I won't do it again.

**My stupid thing this week and it's only Monday--I applied for a district went to search there job board, there are positions, login to apply for the positions--the positions aren't listed. I'm really irritated at this point, I go and look again and sure enough there they are, so I start go over my app. I must have missed the question that said "classified (ie. aide, bus driver etc.)" or "professional-certified position". I felt so stupid!

    Twist on the original s'mores---

We have a fire pit that we have going maybe 4 or 5 nights a week---
well one night my SIL and I used a peanut butter cup instead of chocolate....

    Let me just say---

Once you have the peanut butter cup s'more it is very hard to go back to the original!
