I'm with you in spirt! Glad you went. Hopefully, Gov. Crist will hear and listen to the people that actually do the job every day.

By FL I guess you mean Florida?

Good ol' Sonny here in Georgia is drooling trying to get a similar bill passed. I think it's dead in the water, though, and he has to run for re-election next year. It will be a hot topic, but the last time someone went against teachers, they got booted out of office. So.....

I'll be posting my sign in the yard sometime this summer and contacting the state rep.

I don't think Sonny can run again. I believe Roy Barnes is running again. The funny thing is....I think Roy Barnes did some things that were not teacher friendly and he actually lost re-election.

Congrats! I picked up my first picket sign in 9th grade. In support of a teacher's strike, as it happens...

Yes, I was referring to Roy Barnes. He ran awful ads about teachers, thinking he could throw away the teacher vote. I'm afraid Gov. Perdue is going to want to have the pay for performance thing be his "legacy".

    Isn't 'perdue' French for 'damned'?

Yea! I emailed Crist. And, apparently, Florida teachers are wearing all black this week? I missed that memo. Time to raid the closet.
