I have a student who cannot participate in holiday activities, so I thought we might to the human body heart. Any links, activities or ideas for this topic? Thanks.

I don't know if I'm of any help here, but our theme for next week in our afterschool program is Heart Healthy Week. I encourage my coworkers to avoid anything holiday related activities to be respectful of all students' religions. Thus, next week I know one coworker who is going to do something about jumproping, I will teach my kids how to make a hearth healthy smoothie using fresh fruits (strawberry and peaches). I also plan to discuss making good choices now because even though you are young, your choices now will affect how you live when you are older (getting into good habits now). If time, I plan to have them learn how to measure their heart rates and to do a before and after measure (jump up and down for one minute). We will discuss good healthy habits that we can get into.
