Try teachers-teachers.com or the Tacoma public schools website. I did get an email from teachers-teachers stating that tacoma needs teachers, but they needs specific kinds, sped math science and a few others. Look up thier sites. Remember that there are other schools in the area besides the two big ones, some that are closer to the mountains that may pay less but competition may not be so high. There is one district, the one Bill Gates lives in that no one can get into, but it is the highest paid in the area.....cannot remember the name right now. Also look up Ft. Lewis as the district that services that base can do a quite of elemetary hiring. Good luck. I loved the area when I lived there and I am sure you will too.

Oh, look on the other side of the Tacoma narrows bridge, in Gig harbor and see about that too.

Look up the schools city on the directions part of mapquest, using seattle or tacoma as the home area to see how far away they are. That will help you find ones that close enough to drive to.

I would suggest this website: http://www.wateach.com/

Also, there is this website from OSPI for WA: http://www.k12.wa.us/maps/sdmainmap.aspx

However, this last one lists ALL of the school districts in Washington. In the greater Seattle area I would say that the job market is a little tough. As a new teacher I have had a hard time getting a job, However, if you have experience and are willing to work more in the outskirts you would probably have an easier time finding something! I have heard that Federal Way SD is hiring, which is South of Seattle.

    Hope this helps! :)
