I got an email this week from the Superintendent of the school that I subbed at this past year letting me know that he would like me to fill in for one of their Special Ed teachers while she is out on maternity leave.

It could be up to 4 weeks, depending on when she has her baby (she's due sometime in August, and school starts in September-should I hope for her to go past her due date so I can get a full 6 weeks? LOL) I said I would be glad to, as long as I'm don't get a full-time job.

I am using him as one of my references, so he knows I'm looking for a full time-job and he still thought of me which is great. I really wish there was an opening in his district, because he is awesome and so are the teachers in the school. His email said "It saddens me that some one with your talent and passion for students remains unemployed." Wow, that kind of comment from someone of his position will keep me going for quite a while.

So, either way LTS or F-T, I'll be in school at the beginning of the year...Yahoo!

Congrats! I hope this rolls into something more permanent. Who knows... the new Mom may have a c-section and have to be out 8 weeks. Better yet, she could decide to stay at home for a few years to be with the baby! It could happen. I hope something crops up for you!

The P sounds awesome! Hopefully something opens up in his district and you get to work with him.

    Good luck either way!

This made me laugh. My unemployed teacher friends and I always joke that we have never been so invested in strangers having babies! LOL

To OP--congrats and good luck!! :)
