I know we all love our jobs, but if you weren't a teacher, what would you want to do?

I think I would want to be in television journalism...write for tv guide or something. I love good tv and talking about it with others who are invested in the show too.

    Or a wedding planner.

I'd love to be a writer. I've thought being a lawyer would be interesting work too.

If I was not interested in teaching then I would go into Law Enforcement.

I'd want to go into Emergency Management. It's my hoosband's field and it seems very interesting to me.

I was just thinking about this today. Once thought of being a lawyer or a vet, but Teaching is all I know. My husband might be starting his own biz and if that is successful I will go to work for him in a few years.

Arts management. I'd want to work in a music venue, theater, or museum. I got my undergrad degree in this area. :)

Well, I left a career in recreation and tourism management to become a teacher... but, I guess if I had to quit teaching and do something else, I'd be a travel writer. I love to travel, and I enjoy writing!

Number one, animal rescue work or something in that vein. But I am also very interested in the following:

    Small bookstore owner.
    Egyptologist.
Owner of old-fashioned hangout for kids here...they have no where!
Owner of natural shop...think bath products, makeup, home items.
    Real estate agent.
    Ranger at local historic park.
Most of all...a stay-at-home wife. Seriously.

That is funny because I can see you as a newscaster! Actually, I think meteorologist...that's a compliment because I loooooove all of them! Our weather guys are some of my favorite people, seriously. :haha:

I think I see this so easily because you say you wear a tie most every day, and since most people here don't wear ties...I don't know, guess my mind goes to the people I do see wearing ties regularly.

    I would own a bookstore/coffee shop.

I would write, probably for magazines and/or children's books.

Those things can still be possibilities in the future. Who knows.

I left full-time teaching to be an adjunct professor so I could follow a few other dreams at the same time. I call it the best of all possible worlds.

Besides teaching expository writing, I am also a social media specialist and market writer for 9 businesses, a teacher-trainer, a professional writer, a teacher mentor at the college, and a hands-on science trainer. Most days, I'm not sure which job I love most - they're all like dreams come true.

Something with animals ... maybe training dogs and other service animals.

Or, park ranger (my first major was wildlife management).

Teaching music, writing music, singing music.

    Music is my 3rd love.

Before I got my certification, I worked as a receptionist. I LOVED that job. There's something to be said about being able to leave the job in the evening and to literally not have to think about it again until you walk in the next morning. I've always said that if I could find a job as a receptionist that would pay me as much as I make as a teacher, I would take it in a second.

probably a full time college basketball coach if i could find a job in it. I already coach at a college but I am a low level assistant and dont get paid enough to be a full time coach.

I also wouldn't find working in a book store. I would also like to work in a church type setting, not as a pastor but maybe a youth leader or something like that.

I have thought about other careers but then I just think about the summer off and change my mind lol.

Completely outside of the educational realm- actuary

Not a teacher, but still in 'education'- I'd like to head the educational (field trip) portion of a zoo or museum.

I would own my own craft store. I would love to teach scrapbooking classes. Scrapbooking and crafting (sewing) in Utah is huge. I use to attend all night scrapbooking classes. We would even go to the ski resorts, rent rooms and a huge conference room and scrapbook the night away.

Here in Mississippi no crafting stores. I have to drive to Jackson to the one Micheals ...but we did get a Joann's this summer!!!

I've always liked anthropology, so maybe something to do with that, not that there are any jobs in that field in this area I'm living in. However, I am enjoying my current job in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP).
