Nothing irritates me more than going to PD and getting the powerpoint read to me word for word.

OMG, that was hilarious! SO so so true. I love when the binder is the clear cover ones. I would sit there planning what to do with it. If I had to sit through the stupid 403B/cafeteria plan presentation, by an ACCOUNTANT no less, one more time I think I would scream!

    This was AWESOME! :)

I could relate to pretty much all of them, but yes...the read PPT is an ever-present thorn in my side, and also the Pair-Share (AKA "lunch planning") also hit home. :)

"You REALLY want work place bonding? Break us into groups, give us a list of clues and tell us there’s a pay raise hidden somewhere on campus."

That made me laugh out loud (see, I even wrote it out!)

One of our former administrators gave us 3 inch binders, even if they only had like 20pieces of paper.

What is worse, our in service is always after teaching all day - no days before the kids come.

We have to do special training from 8:00-4:30 with a 30 minute lunch break. We did the training last year and it is good for 2 years but because we will have 3 new staff members we ALL have to do it again -- shoot me now! :dizzy:

I hate doing Think-Pair-Share activities, especially when I get paired with a teacher who actually wants to do the activity.

Funny! Oh, and don't you love the presenters who tell you not to stand there and lecture for more than 15 minutes max because you'll lose the interest of any audience? And they stand there. And lecture. For two hours?

It's strangely comforting to know there are some universal (ridiculous) truths in our profession. :)

That was funny. We did a team building thing that I actually enjoyed this year where we read a description of four different personality types in regards to approaching a new task (example, I am someone who needs all the details and like to have a plan). We then worked with the same personality to create a chart on our strengths, weaknesses and how we work best to share with the group. It was interesting to see who was what type and good to know for future team projects how we can best collaborate. And it didn't go on forever! :thumb:

Soooo true! What's worse than having a powerpoint read to you? Having it read incorrectly! UGH!
